The Cornerstone Project makes a concentrated impact in our local community, above and beyond the JLC’s recurring financial and volunteer investments. The Cornerstone Project supports healthy families at Reid Park Academy by providing wrap-around support services and programming for at-risk students and their families in an effort to create a cohesive and accessible framework that meets their academic, social, emotional, physical and mental needs. Funds raised will enable the JLC’s trained volunteers to work directly with children and families of Reid Park Academy by contributing programming activities and a variety of services related to physical, dental and mental health. In addition, Cornerstone funds will be allocated to capacity building needs in the community and provide for two staff positions to be housed on the school’s campus. These positions will enable the JLC to build human capital in a neighborhood that is both in need and ready for change. Finally, Cornerstone funds will provide for program evaluation to measure our impact at Reid Park Academy.
